I guess an easier way to describe an Album that you create is to say that it is not really an album, it is just an instruction when you click on it to tell your phone what photos you want it to go get so that you can view them. When you thought you were actually putting copies into an album, you really were only indicating which photos to show you from the Camera Roll, when that Album is selected.
